Russian Minister of Industry and Trade Anton Alikhanov held a working meeting with his Indonesian counterpart, Minister of Industry of the Republic of Indonesia Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita. The event took place concurrently with the Indonesia-Russia Industrial and Investment Business Forum in Moscow.
During the negotiations, a wide range of issues were addressed, including the development of trade turnover, cooperation in the chemical industry, and the deepening of collaboration on joint investment projects.
"Over the past five years, trade turnover between our countries has grown by 80%, reaching $ 4.3 billion in 2024. The positive trend continued: from January to October 2025, mutual trade increased by almost 18%, totaling $ 3.6 billion. Notably, about 40% of this volume accounts for industrial products," Anton Alikhanov stated.
He highlighted successful examples of cooperation, such as the establishment of anesthesia drug production by the "Moscow Endocrine Plant" in partnership with PT. SANBE FARMA in Indonesia. A significant achievement was also the launch of ventilator production in Indonesia in 2023 by the Russian company "Triton-ElectronicS."
Special attention at the meeting was given to preparations for Indonesia’s participation as a partner country in the International Industrial Exhibition INNOPROM-2026.
Following the meeting, a second Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the relevant ministries of Russia and Indonesia, covering cooperation in shipbuilding and scientific research on the safe use of chrysotile in the Republic of Indonesia.
Furthermore, within the framework of the Russia-Indonesia Industrial Business Forum, two additional memorandums were signed: between the Association of Industrial Parks of Indonesia and the Russian Foreign Trade Center, and between the Association of Industrial Parks of Indonesia and the Association of Industrial Parks of Russia. These documents outline a commitment to developing joint projects in industrial parks, exchanging expertise, facilitating investments, and supporting companies from both nations in entering new markets. This comprehensive framework lays a solid foundation for long-term and mutually beneficial cooperation. Additionally, Russian Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Alexey Gruzdev invited event participants to visit INNOPROM-2026, which will be held from July 6 to 9.
