Indonesia – ASEAN's Growth Hub: Expanding Trade Cooperation and Industrial
Partnership
Trade representative Booth
As Southeast Asia’s largest economy and a member of BRICS, Indonesia offers significant opportunities for Russian companies seeking access to a dynamic industrial market and the broader ASEAN region. Supported by Indonesia’s growing manufacturing sector, extensive industrial estates, and the recently signed Free Trade Agreement between Indonesia and the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), both countries are well-positioned to strengthen industrial and trade cooperation.
This session will bring together government representatives, industry leaders, and business practitioners to explore practical pathways for market entry, industrial localisation, investment collaboration, and supply chain integration, transforming growing bilateral interest into concrete business partnerships

  • Why is local presence essential for success in the Indonesian market?
  • What practical steps must a foreign company take to establish a presence in Indonesia? (legal entity formation, regulatory requirements, partnerships)
  • What localisation sites and industrial estates are available in Indonesia, and what preferences do they offer to foreign investors?
  • How can products manufactured in Indonesia be exported to neighbouring ASEAN countries? Specifics, logistics, and opportunities.
  • Expert and analytical support for localisation: market entry services, business surveys, logistics solutions.

Dialogue Between Russian and Indonesian Industrial Estate: Regulatory
Harmonization and the Development of International Industrial Clusters
Indonesian Booth (Pavilion 4)
Strengthening cooperation between Russia and Indonesia through Special Economic Zones (SEZs) presents a significant opportunity to deepen industrial partnerships, expand trade, and support export-oriented growth. By aligning regulatory frameworks, preferential treatment mechanisms, and investment incentives, both countries can facilitate the establishment of joint industrial projects and "mirror" SEZs that reduce administrative barriers and accelerate business localization. Enhanced collaboration among SEZ residents will also foster integrated supply chains, lower production costs, and support the development of international industrial clusters.
To ensure long-term sustainability, both countries should promote joint capacity building programs and knowledge exchange in SEZ management, creating a strong foundation for future economic cooperation and investment. Sharing experience in SEZ regulation, management, administration, and incentive policies between Russia and Indonesia.

  • Harmonizing support measures and incentives to facilitate investment, technology transfer, and long-term industrial cooperation.
  • Developing integrated supply chains and industrial clusters based on the capabilities and needs of SEZ residents in both countries.
  • Exploring opportunities, legal frameworks, and implementation mechanisms for establishing joint SEZs in Russia and Indonesia.
  • Leveraging the BRICS SEZ digital platform to improve information exchange, partner matching, and localization opportunities.
  • Establishing joint training and educational programs to strengthen SEZ management and infrastructure development expertise.
