During a working trip to Egypt, Roman Chekushov, State Secretary and Deputy Head of Russia's Ministry of Industry and Trade, held a number of meetings with high-ranking Egyptian officials to discuss key areas for economic cooperation and to invite Egyptian representatives to INNOPROM.
In particular, meetings were held with Kamel Al-Wazir, Egypt's Deputy Prime Minister for Industry, Minister of Industry and Transport; Hassan El Khatib, Egypt's Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade; and Walid Gamaleddin, Head of the Suez Canal Economic Zone.
The parties discussed further steps to create a Russian Industrial Zone in Egypt and identified key areas in which Russian companies can actively participate in developing the country's industry and infrastructure.
During the talks, Roman Chekushov emphasized the importance of the Egyptian delegation's participation in the 16
th International 'Russia – Islamic World' economic forum, which will be held in Kazan from May 13 to 18, as well as in the INNOPROM International Industrial Trade Fair, scheduled in Ekaterinburg from July 7 to 10.
