The president of the Republic of Belarus, Aleksandr Lukashenko, has held a meeting with the governor of the Sverdlovsk Region, Evgeny Kuyvashev. The participants discussed potential cooperation in the machine building industry and modernization of public transport, as well as joint investment projects.
The president noted that cooperation between his country and Sverdlovsk Region had already seen significant growth his first meeting with the governor back in October of 2019.
"Today we have almost $1 billion in trade turnover. Thanks to you, we have always participated in INNOPROM, and we will continue to do so. This is very important, and a direction in which we can continue to work together. Your region has always been, and will remain, a strong industrial region," Aleksandr Lukashenko said.
In turn, the governor of Sverdlovsk Region invited a Belarusian delegation to take part in the INNOPROM International Industrial Trade Fair in Ekaterinburg, which will be held for the 15th time this year, from July 7 to 10. Belarus's traditional participation in the exhibition promotes the development of business contacts. In 2023, the Republic of Belarus acted as an INNOPROM partner country, and in addition to presenting a large-scale exhibition with a total area of 3,093m
2, it organized a rich cultural program for INNOPROM guests as well. As a result of this event, Russia's first Belarusian goods store “Da domu” opened in Ekaterinburg.
