Indonesia Announces Agreement with Russia on Oil and Gas Supplies

Indonesia has secured agreements with Russia on the supply of crude oil, fuel, and liquefied petroleum gas, said Indonesia's Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources, Bahlil Lahadalia. His statement is published on the website of the ministry he heads.

"We will be able to increase our crude oil reserves. Additionally, we will have the opportunity to obtain liquefied petroleum gas," Lahadalia said following talks in Moscow.

According to the minister, cooperation between the two countries will help ensure the stability of Indonesia's energy reserves. The partnership will be pursued both at the intergovernmental level and between companies.

On April 13, talks were held in Moscow between Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto and Russian leader Vladimir Putin. The Indonesian politician's trip to Russia was his third since becoming president. The heads of state discussed prospects for deepening the Russian-Indonesian strategic partnership and issues of energy security.
