Vitaly Saveliev, Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation, said that the first two trains for the Moscow-St. Petersburg high-speed railway (HSR) will be produced and certified from 2027 to early 2028.
"Work is proceeding strictly according to schedule, and we are confident that we will provide Russian passengers with a modern and safe high-speed train by 2027-2028. INNOPROM is an excellent platform for demonstrating our achievements and strengthening cooperation with partners, and we are pleased that both businesses and residents from Russia's regions were able to see and appreciate the comfort level of the future electric train at this exhibition," the press service of the Sinara Transport Machines holding said.
In February of 2024, Russian President Vladimir Putin launched an investment project to produce high–speed rolling stock for the Moscow-Saint Petersburg high-speed railway line at the Ural Locomotives enterprise in Verkhnyaya Pyshma (Sverdlovsk Region). In July, the manufacturer presented a full-scale model this train's head car at the INNOPROM International Industrial Trade Fair.
The railway line between Moscow and Tver (129 km) will be used to test and debug the functionality of the future rolling stock. More than 100 Russian manufacturers are collaborating on creating a high-speed train whose characteristics surpass imported analogues. Technical requirements for all of the train's components and systems have now been developed, and prototypes for most of these have already been manufactured.
It is noteworthy that the model for this innovative train was first unveiled at INNOPROM-2024, which demonstrates the role of the trade fair in promoting cutting-edge development projects.
