Apr 14, 2018 (Euclid Infotech Ltd via COMTEX) -- The Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation was visited by a representative Swedish delegation headed by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Sweden to Russia Peter Ericson .
The delegation included heads of such large Swedish companies as Scania , Volvo , Oriflame , Astra Zeneca , Nordic Capital , Ericsson Russia , etc. On the Russian side, the meeting was held by Zalina Kobesova, Deputy Director of the Department for International Cooperation of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation .
During the meeting, Swedish Ambassador Peter Erikson emphasized that despite the negative impact of sanctions on bilateral cooperation and the current political situation, the Swedish side is ready for dialogue and looks forward to further development of relations in the sphere of industrial cooperation between Russia and Sweden. Representatives of the Swedish delegation touched upon various issues of improving the investment climate in the Russian Federation and the possibility of localizing production in the Russian market for Swedish companies. Also, problems of possible risks for investors and ways of their minimization were voiced.
For her part, Zalina Kobesova noted that the resumption of Russian-Swedish contacts at the official level, including the meeting in September 2017 of the co-chairs of the Russian-Swedish Monitoring Committee on Trade and Economic Cooperation of the Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation Denis Manturov and the Minister for Affairs EU and Swedish trade Anne Linde , contributed to the intensification of trade and economic ties between our countries and the growth of bilateral trade.
The Russian side also noted that the Russian market is maximally open for foreign investors, including for representatives of Swedish business. The Russian side outlined the mechanisms for supporting investors, opportunities, prospects and preferences for localizing production in the Russian market. In particular, Zalina Kobesova noted the prospects of cooperation with the Swedish side in such areas as automotive, pharmaceuticals, heavy machinery, metalworking, and the use of Swedish experience in modernizing Russian enterprises using the best available technologies. At the end of the meeting, the parties agreed to continue the dialogue at the SPIEF-2018 and INNOPROM-2018 venues, including b2b-meetings.
